DR SANDRA SLADDEN

Experience: Dr Sandra Sladden is widely regarded as one of Malta’s leading family lawyers, boasting over 30 years of experience in family law across Malta and internationally, including child abduction cases. She provides a full spectrum of legal services, covering separations, care & custody cases, pre-nuptial agreements, annulments, divorces, and representation before the Ecclesiastical Tribunals.

Dr Sladden’s legal expertise can be attributed to her extensive career, which began in 1995 as an Associate in the Litigation Department in a leading law firm in Malta. In 1998, she co-founded Sladden & Sladden Advocates with her husband, Dr Richard Sladden, where she continues to practice.

Throughout her career, Dr Sladden has served in various capacities as Legal Advisor for various Government Departments. She served as a Prosecutor in Local Tribunals for over a decade and was recently appointed as a Commissioner for Justice. In 2020 she was appointed as one of the Court’s Children’s Advocate and still occupies the post today.

Beyond her distinguished legal practice, Dr Sladden has actively engaged in public service. The most notable being her appointment as a Director on the Board of Directors of Malta International Airport plc, her appointment as Director of the Malta Environment and Planning Authority Board and her appointment as Chairperson of the Employment and Training Corporation (ETC).

Dr Sladden has also committed to voluntary work in multiple voluntary organizations. She currently serves as Chairperson of the db Foundation, continuing her impactful work in both the legal and public spheres.
